Final Information

The big day is fast approaching and we hope you’re as excited for it as we are! So here’s some final information about the big day. Remember if what you’re looking for isn’t here, it will most likely be somewhere on this very well made website or in the FAQs.

  • If you have an invite to the ceremony (the invite will just say the word “Wedding”), please arrive from 13:00. There is plenty of car parking at the venue.

  • If you have an invite to just the reception (the invite will say “Wedding Reception”), please arrive from 19:00. There will still be plenty of car parking at the venue.

Accommodation

  • If you’ve been allocated a room, the person who filled out the RSVP for your room will have received an email telling you the name of your room and where it is. If you haven’t received this email, let Richard know BEFORE THE WEDDING DAY and he will help you.

  • All the rooms will be available after the ceremony. You can take your luggage from the car and find your rooms AFTER photos have been taken or at any point during the reception (especially during the speeches ZZZzzzzzzz). The rooms will be unlocked so you don’t need a key. You can set your own 4 digit access pin to your room if you want to lock it whilst you’re downstairs, but the venue recommends leaving the rooms unlocked unless you’re in the room. I swear I haven’t invited anyone who will rob your room…

Anything else?

Christ he likes the sound of his own voice this guy. You think this is bad, just wait for his speech! A few more bits of info but feel free to just not read any of it, its not important.

  • There will be a few spaces for getting ready at the venue before the ceremony but as these are limited, please try to arrive ready to rock and roll. The getting ready areas will be prioritised for our lovely guests who are traveling very far on the day of the wedding. If your day starts in Norfolk, count yourself lucky!

  • We have a wedding playlist!! If you want to get revising your dance floor hits have a listen to this beauty, you may hear at least a few of these on the night!

An After Party You say?

You heard me! There’s a special cellar, darts board, pool table and table tennis table in the main house. If you fancy joining us for a quiet glass of something nice once all the dancing is done, bring along a bottle of your favorite tipple. Whatever you bring will be safely locked away in the cellar until 23:00 when the stage goes down, the bar closes, the venues alcohol license stops and the real party can start. Whether its a nice single malt or a bottle of red wine with the nice label, hand it to a member of venue staff when you arrive and they’ll lock it away for afters.

Rumour has it one of the groomsmen will treat us to a rendition of Jerusalem on the grand piano if you get enough single malt in him…

Anyway, the rest of the website is unchanged so if you need to find something or show your hiring manager how good it is, its all still there. Can’t wait to see you all on the day!

The Venue

We feel incredibly lucky to be celebrating our wedding at the beautiful Hockwold Hall, nestled in the Norfolk countryside. This stunning 16th-century stately home will be a truly magical setting for our special day.

The venue offers on-site parking, accommodation (details below), games rooms, hot tubs, a grand piano, and—most importantly—a bar!

Since Hockwold Hall is a Grade I listed building, we kindly ask that children are supervised at all times to help us preserve its beauty. Also, please do not bring your own confetti, thank you for understanding!

The grounds are home to some wonderful animals, including over 100 peacocks, goats, and a petting zoo. While they love a bit of attention, we’d really appreciate it if little ones weren’t chasing the peacocks or causing mischief with the goats.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you all!

Accommodation

We've reserved all the available accommodation at the venue for our guests. If you've been allocated a room for the night, you'll find the details on your invitation. Please let us know in your RSVP if you'd like to accept it.

If your invitation doesn’t mention a room, unfortunately, there won’t be onsite accommodation available. However, the nearest towns are Brandon (a 15-minute drive) and Thetford (about 25 minutes away).

We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Dress Code

You are absolutely not required to dress any way or conform to any dress code, we want everyone to be comfortable and enjoy the day. However, if you would like some guidance, think normal wedding attire. Suits, cocktail dresses and your nice shoes are the sort of vibe we’d recommend.

For reference, the groomsmen will be in navy blue suits, and the bridesmaids will be in lilac dresses and the colour scheme is navy blue, lilac and burgundy.

But feel free to wear whatever you’re comfortable in. Unless its white… only one person will be comfortable in white…

Wedding Gifts

We have been fortunate enough to live together for a while now so the traditional wedding registry is not necessary and simply your presence will be enough of a gift for us. However, if you would like to leave us a gift we are saving for our honeymoon and would greatly appreciate any donations to our honeymoon fund!

FAQs

Still have questions? Then the answer is probably no. But have a read of our FAQs just incase. IF you reach out and ask the groom or bride a question answered above or in the FAQs you WILL get a special shoutout on the day and a forfeit.

  • Unless specified on your invite, you DO NOT have a plus one. It’s really important when filling out the RSVP you name your plus one if you have one. As the wedding breakfast has a pre determined seating plan, it will not be possible to add unexpected extras who show up on the day

  • If you have been allocated accommodation for the night, it will be indicated on your invite. You must indicate on your RSVP if you wish to keep the room you’ve been allocated. Unfortunately if the invite doesn’t say you have a room, it will not be possible for you to book accommodation at the venue as it is fully booked.

  • Yes, the wedding breakfast will be a carvery and there’ll be pizza during the reception. There’s vegan/GF options

  • Cow: It is the heaviest animal in the world with no attacking capabilities. Just like horses, if a cow breaks its leg it will go into shock and be unable to stand or move. I’d simply 2 foot the cow from the front or side on either of its front legs leg I’m sticking one on a cocky striker to immobilize it and go from there

  • As above, the answer is on your invite. If your child is invited they will be named on the invite. Due to the pre planned nature of the seating plans its not possible to cater for unexpected guests so its super important to only bring along the people named on the invite

  • Do you need me to answer that? Is it your wedding? Have a think… no its not is it. So no

  • Yes, plenty of on site parking, says that up in the venue section for god sake

  • Literally the first thing it says on this website mate, the actual landing screen has the date RIGHT in the middle, same on the save the date, same on the invite. I’m not your boss, I have no idea if you need to book annual leave, or if you need wipe your own arse for that matter Christ
